Resistant muffler, is a class of muffling equipment through the control of acoustic impedance, this muffler does not use sound-absorbing materials to directly absorb sound energy, but the use of pipeline cross-section of the sudden expansion and contraction of the noise propagated along the pipeline in the sudden change in the source of the emission back; or with the help of resonance chamber next to the pipeline, so that along the pipeline propagation of a certain frequency of the noise in the resonance chamber of a short-circuit, so as to be able to reduce the noise.

Impedance composite muffler
Resistive muffler has good effect on medium and high frequency noise, and resistant muffler is suitable for eliminating narrow band noise in low and medium frequency range, the combination of the two can constitute impedance composite muffler. When the Roots blower has high-intensity broadband noise, this muffler can be used to control the noise.
